the concept is based off the movie annihilation (2018) the film is about a team of female military scientists who explore an area on earth where all life forms have become biologically mutated by a strange alien force called “the shimmer”. the government sent men in the area to investigate but they kept dying. essentially, the shimmer is metaphorically a cancerous tumor on earth. the purpose of this shoot was to portray how women and nature are so intertwined with each other.
